Never pick up an injured or grounded raptor bare-handed: its talons pierce right through a hand and do not release. Cover it with a thick blanket, move it into a ventilated box, keep it dark and call wildlife authorities. Climbing to the nest is both illegal and likely to draw diving attacks from the adult.
