Clitocybe nebularis
The clouded agaric is a large mushroom with a grey to pale grey-brown cap, dusted white when young. Its gills are pale and slightly decurrent, and it has a strong, rancid smell. Even small amounts upset some people's stomachs, and it can be confused with the poisonous livid pinkgill.
Conifer-dominated and broadleaf woodland, from mid to late autumn.
Abundant in Europe and North America.

Old specimens can host another mushroom, Volvariella surrecta, which grows on them as a parasite.
Even a small portion upsets the stomach in some people. The bigger danger is confusion with the poisonous livid pinkgill, which grows in the same places.
